Goodbye, My Love!

So, I know I have not been posting lately.
There are two reasons why:

1. I have been exceedingly busy lately because of the start of Pasadena City College classes. I have been attending this community college for three years now and it has never left me wanting for a challenge. I like challenges. Smiley face.

2. This reason is less understanding. I have been bored with my blog. At this point in my life I am doing a lot of changing and I feel as though my blog will be one of the casualties. Blogging will forever be a love of mine but if it does not evolve when I evolve I will not be able to process what I need to while writing on it. It is time for the Bursty Blogger to move on.
So here is my plan, I am going to rethink what I want and need from my blog. Then I will come back with it all revamped and pretty and ready to make me happy. I like that idea.

I think lots of art, photos and fashion; how does that sound? Good? Good.

Well, I will see you soon!

Dawn of 2012

"May your coming year be filled with music and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you're wonderful, and don't forget to make some art - write or draw or build or sing or lives as only you can. And I hope, somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself."
-Niel Gaiman

This coming year is an year of looming change, greater change then I have ever experienced before. I know that many educated and soulful people have said never look backwards in life, but I think it is hard to remember what you learned and who you met if you don't look backwards every now and then.
Some of my favorite photos from 2011:

My sister and i pulling a U2 pose on top of a mountain in Seattle, Washington.

Me in Seattle again finding wonderful wonderfulness in Elliot Bay  book company.

Can I Have More and More of You?

Golly gee and Merry Christmas from California!!!

This was a blessed time of presents filling our material minds and food filling our bellies. But most of all it is the love of the Savior Jesus that fills our hearts. What a bouncy joyful thing!
I think of hot mugs sloshing in my hands, overflowing onto my plaid blanket and giggles. Laughter is all around mixed with ripping paper and stars. Always stars.
God was good to me and my family.
Is there anything I can say to Him that saved me that will suffice for his ultimate sacrifice? No.
Thank you Lord, for your Son.

And for you, my flock of internet watchers, I love you.
Man, I love Christmas. It is a kind of ache how I love it. Maybe it is more the idea of Christmas that I adore. If that is so then here are some christmas ideas for what Christmas is about.

Love!

Snow! This year My family and I were in Los Angeles so I missed the snow horribly.

Perfect Beauty.

Sending off some christmas cheer for distant lands. Have a safe journey little tree!

Christmas is about lights!

Cozy-ness! I so wish I lived in that little glen. Someday I will have a cabin in the woods by a lake, like the Blue Castle!!

Yet more love.

Cute puppies! It actually is for me because I own two loverly dogs.

Oh, and this picture. I really think Christmas is about cute guys , scratch that, Ryan Gosling wrapped in lights. He has Christmas light around him!!

The Sky Is Falling!

Let me take you back in time for this post. Hop back to a week ago in Los Angeles on the 6th of November.  The day before my birthday, I was stationed at the work bench in a garage next to my friend Mariel(The Petite Parlor). We were making masks listening to good old Jack Johnson while laughing about boys ( yes, we are teenagers). Outside, there was thunderous torrential rainfall. The air was nippy and fresh smelling just how winter in CA should be. But suddenly, the rain-on-roof sound turned into a pinging hard sound. Wait, it wasn't rain! It was hail!!

Billions and billions of tiny ice balls were shooting down  from the sky. They coated the yard to make it look like snow, it was one of the most glorious things I have ever seen. The clouds had a purple tinge to them and rolled in and out to randomly show patches of a sunset sky.

Logically, the first thing that Mariel and I thought to do was run out into the pelting pellets of ice. Smart? not so much. Memorable? Very. It was a wonderfully foolish thing to experience. I loved it!

Mariel enjoyed the extraordinary cold air, which is a miracle in itself in California.

 My feet :)

I had to share this amazing happenstance with everybody because it was just to beautiful to keep to myself. I mean, this is the closest we get to snow in Los Angeles, and it was so cool!

I wish beautiful experiences for you to this holiday season!

Ferris, I will marry you.

You know what? Screw it! Teenager-ness sucks. It just does. Old people are always like, "Oh, do anything you can because it's the best time of your life." or, "Being young was so much fun. I miss those days of youth." Well, the whole do-what-everthing-you-can-while-your-still-young thing is so crap. The minuet you do something "Stupid" like sitting on the roof or running around in the street in front of you house at night the old one crack down and are all, "That was irresponsible!" It was a side street where you can see the cars coming two blocks away!!
And then there is the I-miss-being-young thing which is also a false statement. What they really mean is," I wish my joints still worked." They seem to delete the hormones and stupid relationship issues.
Who wants to be a Teenager?! I don't. I want to be comfortably settled in my mid-thirties, married to a Scottish guy, have three kids, and living in some other country where I teach art to underprivileged kids while illustrating books. That is what I want. Teen angst can go die!

I just realized the hypocrisy of that last sentance. I am full of teen angst right now and it is fun, in an angry sort of way. Listen to Broken Boy Soldier by The Raconteurs while looking at these pictures and you'll know how I feel.

Well, I feel refreshed I suppose. Now I am going to go mope in the kitchen and eat some food.
