Boil and Bubble

Such a happy feeling has come over me. I am no longer bound by the chains of the crowded degradation that is high school!

WOOOOO! I am a Graduate!

So long you, sorry freshmen. I need to abandon you to your four year sentence because I am going to college land. Granted when I get to college-land I will be in new four year commitment and I will probably be crying a lot from loneliness but it will be cool. I'll be fine.
You wanna know why I'll be fine?
Because of this amazing graduation gift!!

Yes, folks, it is a beautiful magical electric kettle that will spill out it's healing waters to keep me in denial about how much sleep I actually need. This baby will give me tea, oatmeal, those instant cup'o'noodly things, and more tea. Yay!

Also from Mariel Evens was this beautiful handmade bracelet.

I love my friends!

A Fantastic Burst of A Blog

It has been awhile since I have done a Happies post. In fact, it has been to long because life has been a good little whirl of lots of work and school and artwork. Happiness is actually very abundant with myself and I do not know why. Well, here is something adding to the little bubble bursts of goodness.

If you all remember this fantastic fellow,

then you will be THRILLED when you see this trailer.  When I saw it I was so happy! Wes Andersen is such a clever unique director, I love him so much!
Moonrise Kingdom: about two child sweethearts run away together and high jinx in-sue. Yay! High jinx, I love high jinx!

Doesn't it look so cute and awesome! I is so excited! It is coming out in March or May, one of the 'M' months. I want to come out sooner.

Where Can You Be Found?

There is nothing like emptiness. It feels as though right beneath your lungs there is a round hole. In that hole there are only echos of other peoples characteristics that you wish you had, retaining them in that hole doesn't work for you. There is still that emptiness filled with emotional slush.
These are my feelings, but you know what?
I am ok.
Fine.
Content.
Able.

Ok.

I have felt this empty place before. This time it was a place I had hide my insecurities. I go through seasons of insecurities and then contentedness. This season I realized something, the reason for my ok-ness.
I am tired of being unhappy with myself. When the emptiness of jealousy and envy of the goodness I see in others comes upon me, I feel as though I am among the damned. It is hard to be around those blessed ones even if they are my dearest friends.
God is not ok with that. He told me so. This is simply giving me a reason to nurse my obsession with myself.

Fact:
I like myself a lot.
I always have.

But to let that go wild is dangerous. So God gave me a way out. Give more and more of my precious self away at every opertunity. How do I do that?
Love everyone I can. And that includes God, himself.
Learning will be involved in this. To give and pursue my friends and creator will be hard, but I think it will be fulfilling. and it will be a substance for my hole.

One of the deep secrets of life is that all that is really worth the doing is what we do for others." - Lewis Carroll

And that's why I am ok. I am content in this.

Can I Have More and More of You?

Golly gee and Merry Christmas from California!!!

This was a blessed time of presents filling our material minds and food filling our bellies. But most of all it is the love of the Savior Jesus that fills our hearts. What a bouncy joyful thing!
I think of hot mugs sloshing in my hands, overflowing onto my plaid blanket and giggles. Laughter is all around mixed with ripping paper and stars. Always stars.
God was good to me and my family.
Is there anything I can say to Him that saved me that will suffice for his ultimate sacrifice? No.
Thank you Lord, for your Son.

And for you, my flock of internet watchers, I love you.
Man, I love Christmas. It is a kind of ache how I love it. Maybe it is more the idea of Christmas that I adore. If that is so then here are some christmas ideas for what Christmas is about.

Love!

Snow! This year My family and I were in Los Angeles so I missed the snow horribly.

Perfect Beauty.

Sending off some christmas cheer for distant lands. Have a safe journey little tree!

Christmas is about lights!

More love!

 Pj's!!

Yummy meals!

Cozy-ness! I so wish I lived in that little glen. Someday I will have a cabin in the woods by a lake, like the Blue Castle!!

Yet more love.

Cute puppies! It actually is for me because I own two loverly dogs.

Oh, and this picture. I really think Christmas is about cute guys , scratch that, Ryan Gosling wrapped in lights. He has Christmas light around him!!

Of Little White Creatures

I am one year older then I was when I last posted. Seventeen!! Wooo-Hooo! You know what make being seventeen awesome? I'll tell you. I am finally the Dancing Queen!
"You are the dancing queen, young and sweet, only seventeen.
   OOOOOOO-OOOOOO!!!"- ABBA

Yep, thats me!

I don't feel any older yet, a friend of mine said it takes at least a month for your new age to set in. Then another friend who is seventeen told me he still feels ten, so I am not sure what to expect.
I haven't posted in awhile but I have legitimate reasons so don't judge. I have been staring at a computer screen so much lately that my eyeballs feel like the are going to fall out of my skull and roll away. There is dog hair all over my floor so I would literally have hairy eyeballs. Writing college papers has mmade me a little loopy.
Anywhoooo, I wanted to share some wonderful gifts that my friends gave me :)

I got a graphic novel from my friend Micah:

The Arrival by Shaun Tan is based in fantastical land of strange creatures and wonderful cities. It tells the story of a man who leaves behind his wife and child and city infested by mysterious dragon like creatures to immigrate to a new bright city.

He can not speak the language but finds this city a safe haven away from all threatening things.
While he is there he meets other immigrants who tell him their stories. Finally he saves up enough to bring his wife and chid to the city; they meet in an epic reunion that makes me tear up. The different thing about this book is that it is told entirely without words; just pictures drawn by the amazing Mr. Tan.
Thanks Micah! I really love it!

Can I Hold Your Hand?

"To feel the love of people whom we love is a fire that feeds our life." Pablo N

Is that true? Is the disire to love and be loved what drives us to live? Surely, we all want that one true love that will cause our emotions to burn beautifully through blood and bones and brains. Is that state of being what we need to survive and thrive?
    I think it is.
Humans are capable of many types of love. I have no such perfect love that many imagine the instant they hear the word 'love' but I have others. I have a crazy mad love for my dearest and closets friends that won't fade away. I love my family greatly. Oh, and I deeply love my dog Scooby.
My greatest love is reserved for Jesus Christ. I love His completeness because he is in me, and therefore I am whole. But only with him. WHat human can complete me?
Those are my loves. I love all sorts of beautiful things as well, like sunsets and the sea. Soup on cold days, slippers and skiing.

I hope you all find things you love today, you'll find yourself bunches happier. Here is some love from me to you.

    You are beautiful.

Rolling in the Deep

Here I am again, oh blog of my own! I have missed you of late. What? You don't believe me little blog? But you should! I simply adore you!
Well, hello to you too!
Do you know what I love? The beach. If it were a man I would marry it. You know what else I love? The Ocean. Didn't see that one coming did you?

In all seriousness, I do love that sandy strip called our coast. Sand gets everywhere and the sun bakes the skin off of my pale face but I don't care. I still love the great vastness of sky and the sheer power of the sea. What is more powerful then the sea? It is simply beautiful.

I went to Manhattan beach with some friends today. It was hot, the water was cold, and the company was good. The waves were huge and it was somewhat terrifying to get tugged under foaming breaches to be thrown about like rag dolls. Soggy rag dolls.
It was terrific! I felt very alive and alert.

The day was beautiful and I had a loverly catch up time with a friend. Over all it was a splendid way to spend Friday.
