Can I Have More and More of You?

Golly gee and Merry Christmas from California!!!

This was a blessed time of presents filling our material minds and food filling our bellies. But most of all it is the love of the Savior Jesus that fills our hearts. What a bouncy joyful thing!
I think of hot mugs sloshing in my hands, overflowing onto my plaid blanket and giggles. Laughter is all around mixed with ripping paper and stars. Always stars.
God was good to me and my family.
Is there anything I can say to Him that saved me that will suffice for his ultimate sacrifice? No.
Thank you Lord, for your Son.

And for you, my flock of internet watchers, I love you.
Man, I love Christmas. It is a kind of ache how I love it. Maybe it is more the idea of Christmas that I adore. If that is so then here are some christmas ideas for what Christmas is about.

Love!

Snow! This year My family and I were in Los Angeles so I missed the snow horribly.

Perfect Beauty.

Sending off some christmas cheer for distant lands. Have a safe journey little tree!

Christmas is about lights!

Cozy-ness! I so wish I lived in that little glen. Someday I will have a cabin in the woods by a lake, like the Blue Castle!!

Yet more love.

Cute puppies! It actually is for me because I own two loverly dogs.

Oh, and this picture. I really think Christmas is about cute guys , scratch that, Ryan Gosling wrapped in lights. He has Christmas light around him!!

A Happy Interlude

By name I shall be called the Bursty Blogger.
Do you know of the reason? I shall tell you if you do not. You don't? Ok.
It is because I blog in bursts! Rather self explanatory, heehee.

Business over I would like to talk. Just talk.
"That is what this post is about: talking!" decries the blogger god!

My very dear friend came to spend a few vibrant hours with me yesterday; we talked of many things, not of cabbages and kings mind you but real kinds of things. Things that have a weight and add some substance to your soul as you think them, work them around your mouth, and emit them into another hands. I painted and talked and he just talked. We are like a brother and sister that get along fabulously! We joked and laughed, made food, and ended up on the kitchen floor talking about God, relationships, and realizations. We spoke about beautiful things and frightening things and things we did not fully understand yet there were bubbles of joy through out our conversations. We had a good time, it made me happy.
Last night told me something: I think I am a pretty good person. Don't interpret that as stuck up or pompous(isn't that a fun word to say? Pompous! Ha!). Think of it more as a long time coming needed healing.
I never thought to well of myself, to tell the truth. I was either to fat, to shallow, to fake, to untalented or not enough of anything to be interesting. I never two of these things at once, just one at a time. In a way that was more damaging to my psyche than if I was all at of those faults at the same time.
But during this interlude on the kitchen floor with Jonathan (yes my dear friend is a guy and no he is not my boyfriend) it came upon me that I was content with myself. Have you ever been content with yourself? It is not a feeling of jumping for joy, it is a feeling of every tension in every muscle and tendon of your body releasing to be replaced with calm.
I know for a fact that when I am in crowds I cover myself with hyper enthusiasm. It is not a lie, that enthusiasm, but it is a deflector shield that undermines any attempt to go deeper then a
"How are you?" "Good." "Good"
*flits off to prance across chairs and act indifferent to opinions*.
Yep, thats me in a crowd.
I can't help it. I can not focus in a large crowd, too much movement. After two hours of being surrounded I am exhausted. I end up in a corner seriously working on my wall flower skills.

Fact:
My wall flower skills, their good.

I like shutting myself into my Turret(my room) and imagining I am part of some deep novel about a tortured artist and the people she inspires. The only people I inspire are the multiple ones in my head... so I guess I inspire myself? Because they are in my head, Oh never mind.
Anyway. Talking one on one with Jonathan I was calm yet still my bubbly self, full of stories and random descriptions. Jonathan said he liked this Tallis and I thought(and said out loud) that I liked this Tallis, too.
Thanks Jonathan for talking to me. I hope I said some things that helped you too. I tried to.

With all my genuine enthusiasm, The Bursty Blogger *tee hee*

Merry Christmas to one and all!

It is Christmas finally! This day has been the epitome of happiness for me for as long as i can remember. I was going to use "recall" but "remember" is such a loverly word. Being with my scattered family is such a treat! When I was little, most of the happiness orbited around the lighted tree and all the goodies hidden underneath. As I grew older, especially this year, I feel very drawn to the story of Christ and the true meaning of Christmas. Wow, that sounds so cheesy. But really, in all seriousness, I want to draw attention to the baby that was born today (actually historically it was more around january or febuary i think, but thats not important.)
God is a big part of my life, I would be lost without Him. Dear Lord, this is your day! I love you and I will give you all my worship!

Also there is family. My family is so scattered about the US that we see each other only two or three times a year. It is such a treat to be around them and have special moments. I most enjoy sitting down, drawing or drinking tea and just listening to the funny conversations that happen. I am super-ly happy to be here :)

And the food!! Oh my gosh! Our family is so centered around food. I swear we all gain about five pounds every time we get together.

Well, presents are a source of great happiness as well. I would be lying if i said "Of coarse not, I am just that unselfish." So we will unwrap them today and celebrate the birth of christ!
Merry Christmas to one and to all!-Tallie Raye

a little cheese today

What makes a perfect day? What makes anyone light up inside and wish life would go on forever?

I have the answer. Would you like to hear it? Yes? Then here it is:

Going on an adventure with friends and family you love.

It is rather simple but when this answer is pondered and considered it has many facets. When i think of things in my life presently that i wish would continue on and on in my life for always i immediately think of my friends. Where else in my life will i find friends half so special as the ones i have now? Sure there will be special friends and precious friends but these life long ones will always be the life long friends i grew up and became myself with. Family i wish always to be there and remain the same. Then add an adventure to life to make our life and relationships even deeper. Plus adventures are just fun to have!

This is for all my family and friends whom i love! You are amazing, I love you all! I hope we have so many exciting journeys with you through out life! Thanks for the memories so far :)

Eating, but talking too

My sister, i kid you not, can walk through the kitchen and snack on at least five things at once. Sometimes more. Chips, hummus, apples, spinach dip, cookies anything remotely dip-able doesn't stand a chance. It will be found, smothered in a dip, mashed by teeth and disappear down her throat. Now while she is consuming veggie chips or some other crunchy delectable, she is talking. She talks all the time, even if i am clearly reading she will chatter away not really caring that i am engaged in a conversation with a book character.
Don't get me wrong, i love my sister. When she broke up with her boy friend i got all her attention back, which includes all her conversation. I feel very privileged when she talks to me but i find it increasingly hilarious that she will talk to me even if i don't respond.

Me: hey, i really can't talk right now. I have a bunch of homework.
Sis: Oh ok i'll stop talking...
ten seconds later: So there was this guy in class today that was being a total jerk face to the teacher...
(actual conversation)

get ready for some cheese! My sister is a wonderful person that i really look up to. She keeps me company during long tedious hours of homework that neither of us want to do. In fact i started a blog about her, thats how freaking awesome she is!!
